Celebrating a Colleague’s Success: Tricia Youngs’ Book Launch in Boca Raton

In April, I had the privilege of attending a truly special event - the book launch of our colleague and friend, Tricia Youngs, LMHC, held at the amazing Farmer’s Table restaurant in Boca Raton. The afternoon was not only a celebration of Tricia’s outstanding accomplishment but also an opportunity to connect with fellow therapists, friends, and colleagues from across the South Florida mental health community.

Tricia is a respected trauma therapist in the area whose work has long been a source of inspiration to many of us. Her new book, which explores the journey of healing from trauma, shares about her own recovery from trauma from the perspective of a seasoned clinician. The launch event was a moving experience where we all got the chance to commend Tricia on a job well done. It’s a serious accomplishment.

The evening featured a panel of speakers, consisting of friends, colleagues, and fellow mental health professionals, who all offered thoughtful reflections on the book and how that relates to their own personal and professional journeys. Each speaker brought a unique perspective and shared from the heart, highlighting excerpts from the book which resonated with their work.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening came when Tricia took the microphone to read an excerpt from her book. As she shared her words with the audience, she also opened up about the personal story behind the book’s creation—how it evolved from years of working with trauma survivors, and how her own lived experiences informed the vulnerability and strength that come through in the pages. She shared the story about how she met Gabor Maté at the Global Exchange Conference where he told her “you better start writing”, which gave her the oomph she needed to get started. Tricia shared about both her pain and resilience, giving us a great reminder of why we do this work.

At Mangrove Therapy Group, we are proud to be part of this South Florida mental health community and to share in the same commitment to deep, transformative work. Located just 1.5 miles from Boca Raton in East Delray Beach, our practice specializes in the treatment of trauma and addiction. Our team of skilled clinicians are experts in treating the spectrum of psychological conditions that arise from unresolved adversity.

We believe in doing this work with integrity, presence, and collaboration. Like Tricia, we are committed to high-quality, trauma-focused psychotherapy that is supported by compassion, clinical skill, and the belief that healing is always possible.

We are also experts in therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) which is an evidence-based approach for the treatment of trauma and trauma-related disorders. Every member of our team is at least trained and working toward advanced levels of certification in EMDR and mentored by me in the modality.

If you are looking for a trauma-informed therapist in the Boca Raton or Delray Beach area, we invite you to reach out. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or referring someone you care about, we’re here to walk alongside that journey. Congratulations again to Tricia Youngs on the launch of her beautiful book. It’s a powerful reminder of what it means to be both a therapist and a human being.
