Brian Drennen, MSW, CAP
Certified Addiction Professional
Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern
My passion lies in helping you connect more deeply with what you are wanting for yourself. Together, we uncover the blocks that are getting in the way of your healing and success. My experience is drawn from working in residential treatment supporting individuals and their families in the earlier stages of substance abuse and mental health recovery. In this field, I worked in a variety of capacities which I believe helps me bring a uniquely skilled perspective and approach. In my career, I have dedicated myself to working directly with adolescents, adults, and their families as they traverse issues of addiction and mental health. More specifically, I have worked directly with individuals struggling with addiction, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD, and complex trauma. I am trained in EMDR, the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), and certified as an Addiction Professional in the state of Florida.
My approach to therapy is relational and trauma-focused. First and foremost, I believe in creating a trusting and safe relationship and view this journey as a partnership. This means we work together to discover and shift into new strategies to help heal. My goal is to support you in discovering a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your aspirations. I also firmly believe in looking at one’s family of origin to discover patterns that were once necessary but are now maladaptive and getting in your way. Knowing that each individual and family is different, I hope to help heal your unique attachment wounds and underlying trauma that have surfaced in your life and relationships.
My dedication for working with individuals and families comes from my personal as well as professional experience of the impact that mental health and substance use disorders have on individuals and families. I value and respect each client’s uniqueness and hope to support you in discovering your true authentic self.
